BOLIVAR Odors coming from the Countywide Recycling & Disposal Facility may get worse this winter as part of work to ensure that the odors don’t get much more worse.

Paul Ruesch, an environmental engineer for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, gave an update this morning on the Pike Township landfill to the board of the Stark-Tuscarawas-Wayne Joint Solid Waste Management District.

Plans to excavate part of the Countywide facility proceed (Nov 7, 2008)

BOLIVAR Environmental regulators intend to proceed with plans to excavate part of the Countywide Recycling and Disposal facility, installing a soil fire-break to stop the landfill’s underground fire from spreading.
