September 5th, 2007 · No Comments

09/05/07 - The Ohio EPA is concerned that tension cracks and possible slope movement at Countywide could affect I-77. Spokesman Mike Settles said that agency officials have discovered what may be tension cracks at the landfill in early August. Citing concerns that slope failure could damage the “public and nearby infrastructure, including the heavily traveled” I-77. General Manager Tim Vandersall says that the cracks are a natural result of settling waste and that the OEPA is just being conservative. See article in the Times-Reporter.
